C5 Hydrocarbon Resin

Polykem quality C5 Hydrocarbon Resin is a kind of synthetic resin produced by petroleum cracking process, mainly from the polymerization of five carbon (C5) small molecule hydrocarbon monomer. Due to its unique chemical structure, this resin exhibits good physical properties such as adhesion, heat resistance and transparency, making it an important material in many industrial applications.

China Polykem's C5 Hydrocarbon Resin range is a high performance resin based on refined petroleum feedstock, which is popular in many industries for its excellent thermal stability, good adhesion and high transparency.

The A series provided by Polykem is a thermoplastic aliphatic petroleum resin made from the C5 fraction of the by-product of the ethylene plant. The appearance of the product is a light yellow translucent granular solid.

Grade Selection

A100 ( Hot Melt Road Marking Paint ):

A100 is a low molecular weight aliphatic hydrocarbon resins that has been designed for hot melt road marking paint. This resin show outstanding affinity for pigments and superior processability in the hot melt road marking application. It will remain stable all round the year by adding additive.

A2095 A1095 A1100 (Hot Melt Adhesive ):

A2095, A1095, A1100 are hydrocarbon resins suitable for hot-melting adhesives (including quick packaging adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes and glue sticks, etc.). They have excellent compatibility with SIS, SBS, EVA, Natural Rubber and many kinds of synthetic rubbers. Can enhance the performance of Hot Melt Adhesive applications.

Product Feature

Tackifying Performance

The C5 Hydrocarbon Resin is mainly used as a tackifier in hot melt adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives and rubber compounds. It helps improve initial tack, peel strength and bonding performance without significantly changing the basic structure of the adhesive system.

Softening Point and Heat Resistance

Softening point is an important indicator when selecting this Hydrocarbon Resin. Suitable softening point grades can help maintain processing stability in hot melt adhesive systems, road marking paints and rubber compounding applications where heat resistance and stable performance are required.

Light Color and Appearance

This Hydrocarbon Resin is available in light-colored grades, which is important for applications where final appearance matters, such as light-colored adhesive tapes, labels, packaging adhesives and transparent or translucent hot melt formulations.

Polymer Compatibility

It shows good compatibility with natural rubber, SBS, SIS, EVA and other polymer systems. This allows it to be used in different adhesive and rubber formulations with good blending performance.

Processing Stability

With suitable melt viscosity and thermal stability, our Hydrocarbon Resin can support stable processing during heating, mixing and formulation adjustment. It is suitable for customers looking for consistent performance in regular production.

Applications

For Hot Melt Adhesives

Polykem C5 Hydrocarbon Resin is widely used in hot melt adhesive systems, including packaging adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, tapes, labels and glue sticks. Grades such as A100 and A110 are commonly selected to improve tack, peel strength and bonding performance when used with SIS, SBS, EVA and rubber-based formulations.

C5 Resin for Road Marking Paint

In hot melt road marking paint, Polykem A100 is a commonly used grade. It helps improve pigment wetting, flow behavior and processing stability during heating and application. This grade is often chosen for road marking systems that require consistent performance under different working conditions.

Rubber Modification

It can be used in rubber compounding to improve tack, processability and compatibility with rubber materials. Grades like A90 and A100 are suitable for natural rubber, synthetic rubber, SIS, SBS and other rubber-based systems where better mixing and bonding are needed.

Coatings and Inks

In coatings and ink formulations, Polykem C5 resin can help improve adhesion, gloss and film-forming performance. It is often used in industrial coatings and printing inks where light color, compatibility and stable performance are required.

Plastics and Composites

Polykem C5 resin may be used as a modifier in plastics and composite materials to adjust processing behavior, adhesion and surface performance. It can be considered in selected polymer systems where compatibility with the base material is important.

Textile and Paper Coating

The product can be used in textile coating and paper coating systems to improve adhesion and coating stability. It is suitable for applications where the coating layer needs better bonding with the substrate and stable processing performance.
